You, Your, The Client – The individual or organisation requesting the services of Caithness Creative Design.

Terms & Conditions:

By using any of our services you accept the following:

Website Design

• If you are ordering a website we will first have an informal discussion either in person, by email or by telephone to get to know about you and your requirements. We will then prepare a free no obligation quote for your website based on what you require.
• If you decide you would like us to produce your website we ask for an upfront deposit usually 50% of the quoted price. The deposit is non-refundable as it secures our availability to work on the project, covers design concepts, initial design work, administration and communication.

• We will give you a timescale during our initial discussion, we will keep you up to date with progress and will inform you as soon as possible if there will be any delay or change to the timescale.

• You will be required to supply content (text and images) for your website. We are happy to help you source stock images for your website if required, any extra costs incurred will be payable by the client. We will of course ask your permission before purchasing any chargeable stock images. Content must be supplied in a timely manner to allow us to begin working on your project.

• We take no responsibility for any copyright infringement caused by material supplied by the client. We reserve the right to refuse to use any material we believe to be copyright unless adequate proof is given that the client owns the copyright for the material.

• The client is expected to fully test the website to ensure they are completely happy with it before the site is made live.

• We will do our best to ensure that the website functions correctly on the server it is hosted on at launch and that the website functions correctly on current web browsers including: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Safari.

• If you decide you would like us to design your website (we will ask you to confirm this by email) we will send you an invoice by email and our bank account details for payment. We will not start developing your website until we receive payment.

• We reserve the right include your website in our portfolio section.
• All our websites include “Website by Caithness Creative Design” in the footer with a link to our website.

Domain name registration:

You need to register a domain name for your website. There are many companies who provide domain names. We can provide the domain name for you if you require.

Web hosting:

• We supply shared hosting packages using UK servers that employ energy efficient hardware and green business practices.

• We offer various web hosting packages depending on the size of your website.

• Clients are free to use their own hosting if they wish.

• You can use our hosting even if we did not build your website

• If you choose to host your website with us there are no setup fees.

• Hosting fees can be paid yearly in advance or paid monthly.

• Hosting paid yearly in advance qualifies for 1 months free hosting.

• Offensive or illegal material is not permitted, hosting will be terminated imminently if offensive or illegal material is uploaded to our hosting service.

  Maintenance:

• We offer various maintenance packages depending on your needs.
• Clients are free to conduct their own updates and maintenance if they wish. We accept no responsibility for any site issues caused by clients conducting their own updates or maintenance.

  Reasonable use policy:

  Our maintenance plans include content updates to your website, these updates are subject to what we deem reasonable use. Any substantial content updates may incur a fee.

• If required we can conduct work on an ad hoc basis, a price will be quoted for this in advance.

  Web design & maintenance plan order cancellation & cooling off period:

• You are free to cancel an order up to 7 days after the date of your order, your deposit will be fully refunded to you. You must inform us that you wish to cancel by email.
• If you would like us to begin working on your website or conducting maintenance before the 7 day cancellation period please inform us of this by email. You will forfeit the right to cancel the order in full if you ask us to begin working on your website before the end of the cooing off period and you will be charged for any work conducted up to the point you cancel.

• Hosting Cancellation:

• We require 1 months notice to cancel your hosting account.
• You must inform us that you wish to cancel your hosting by email.

  Complaints:

• If you have an issue with any of our services please raise the matter with us by email detailing your issue clearly. We aim to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction as quickly as possible
